EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME

OOA has a longstanding tradition of providing an educational programme made up of high quality courses on a wide range of topics in oncology.

GRADUATE STUDENT RETREAT

A highlight of the educational programme is the annual PhD student retreat, which focuses entirely on the research conducted by the  PhD students.

SUPERVISION

Adequate supervision is an important issue at the OOA institutes. The participating institutes each have systems for registration and monitoring. 

PhD STUDENTS WORKING AT AMSTERDAM UMC, AMC​

All AMC PhD students working on an oncology project, are member of the Cancer Center Amsterdam, AMC Graduate School ánd the OOA. When you have successfully been registered at the AMC Graduate School, you will receive a request for additional details of your PhD trajectory from the CCA/OOA office. When you submit those details, you will automatically become OOA member. Participation in all our activities count as part of your PhD educational programme. 

PhD STUDENTS WORKING AT NKI-AvL

PhD students working at NKI-AvL, are OOA member as soon as they have submitted their OOA registration form at the OOA office. Upon registration, PhD students can join all OOA activities. On top of this, you also have to register your PhD trajectory at the university at which your promotor is appointed. This procedure differs per university, so it is very important to check the rules and regulations of the specific university right at start. 

PhD STUDENTS WORKING AT AMSTERDAM UMC, VUmc

Each PhD student working on an oncology project at location VUmc has to enroll for his/her trajectory at both Cancer Center Amsterdam and the Dean’s office via the Hora Finita digital system. This registration process also includes signing up for the OOA. After successfull registration (including submitting additional details of your PhD trajectory at the CCA/OOA office) you can join our educational activities which all count as part of your PhD programme
