OOA retreat 2019
We are pleased to announce the OOA retreat 2019!
Each year OOA organizes a three-day retreat for all PhD students participating in the OOA (NKI-AvL and Amsterdam UMC, location AMC & VUmc). The retreat focuses entirely on research conducted by you and your fellow PhD students. Students present their work as a poster or in a 12 minute oral presentation and they are also in charge of chairing sessions and discussions. The retreat trains important skills in presentation and interaction but it also provides an overview of research conducted within OOA at an early stage of your career. The OOA retreat contributes significantly to the interaction between the students of the different participating institutes and also between the students of different divisions within the same institute: clinical and fundamental. To encourage this interaction, an abstract book outlining the research activities of all participating students will be distributed.
On Thursday you have a free afternoon. You can visit Renesse (shops and pubs) or the beach (blokarting/power kiting). The hotel has a small swimming pool.
The OOA retreat is always highly appriciated by all participants. Don’t miss this opportunity to extend your network!
Guidelines for making an abstract, poster and oral presentation, can be found here.
Registration deadline retreat
October 9 – 11, 2019. All participants are obliged to stay all three days of the retreat.
Hotel de Zeeuwse Stromen, Renesse. www.zeeuwsestromen.nl. Buses will bring you from NKI or WTC to Renesse and back.
All OOA PhD students. Please note: last year we didn’t have enough places available for all interested PhD students. It has therefore been decided that all students that went to the OOA retreat last year for the first time, cannot participate this year, but they can join the OOA retreat again in 2020. Only when you will complete your PhD trajectory before October 2020, you can participate this year.
Free of charge for all PhD students. The fee for AMC/UvA PhD students has to be paid by project fundings that are managed by the supervising PI (please see registration form for detailed information ).
